MAD MAX’s Local Legends!

There’s nothing quite as visually exciting as the many vehicles that star as the road warriors of MAD MAX: Fury Road’s post industrial apocalypse. We think a couple of them would look well suited parked outside THE SHED! So we were thrilled to read about a couple of South Coast locals who worked on the film for the last 5 years as both head truck mechanic & metal worker for the cinematic juggernaut.

Autumn Beach Treasure

Autumn is one of our favourite times anywhere on the NSW coast. The water is usually still quite warm, winds often light from the west, the blues of the ocean deeper and the crowds have gone! Sometimes it feels like people just forget to go to the beach once summer ends, which makes the many beaches and rock pools of the south coast the ideal playground for you and your family.  We love exploring the rockpools at Werri Beach, Walkers Beach, Shelly and Seven Mile/Gerroa Beach where these pics have been taken…. all just moments from The Shed.

Alfresco

Everyone loves a great deck – ready for relaxation Summer through to Winter …our Northern Deck will see a great deal of relaxation over the coming years, we hope these vintage chairs from Grandma, painted in chalk black, will be up to it!

Christmas at The Shed

Christmas is always marked as a line in the sand for things to be completed and The Shed was no different.  It felt like a race to the finish line with a great prize awaiting us.  We were very excited to spend our first Christmas at The Shed with the kids and our extended family and friends – and here is what it looked like….

Light Up

Lighting was such an important detail to get right at The Shed.  The type of light fitting not only had to suit the room it was lighting up but we soon learnt the size of the lights were on a scale we weren’t used to… lights that would look right in a normal home looked like toy lights in The Shed!

Here are some of our lighting choices…

simple, light and robust…

These were our first thoughts about the kind of weekender we wanted to build.
Simple – a fuss free space, large open living spaces, focus on the outdoors and view
Light – in terms of the houses footprint and the fantastic North aspect
Robust – nothing too precious and everything hard wearing.  It’s all about the great escape, walk in RELAX, invite friend and family RELAX, leave feeling RELAXED!

Oh yes and affordable!
