Light Up

Lighting was such an important detail to get right at The Shed.  The type of light fitting not only had to suit the room it was lighting up but we soon learnt the size of the lights were on a scale we weren’t used to… lights that would look right in a normal home looked like toy lights in The Shed!

Here are some of our lighting choices…

Changing Rooms

One of the aims of The Shed was to create a spacious weekender with versatile spaces. We are hoping to achieve this through large flexible spaces; A bunk room that can be partitioned if need be, high ceilings throughout allowing a loft space to be included down the  track, and large doors creating an internal breezeway or sitting room – depending on the weather.  You won’t find a better example of this concept than in the kitchen!

The Doors

As part of the design of THE SHED, we have two large doors that open to create an internal breezeway or indoor/outdoor space. The idea is to allow extra internal space during the cooler months and have a cool covered area during the warmer months, which we can expose or protect from prevailing breezes or winds respectively.

The North door is a glass fold up door 4 metres wide x 3 metres high and the Southern breezeway door is a ‘massive sliding wall’ also 4 metres wide…
